Python for Scientists: theory and practical examples.

By Adrian Jacobo
IFISC - 18/03/2008 2008

Python is a programming language that can be used for many kinds of software development. It offers strong support for integration with other languages and tools, comes with extensive standard libraries, and can be learned in a few days. If you run simulations or process data Python can change and improve the way you work. I will give a brief introduction to the language features and syntaxis and then some examples of the most common situations you can encounter during your day to day work, and how can you solve them by using Python.
