We study a heterogeneous neuronal model for the wake-sleep cycle obtained by generalizing the two-neuron model introduced by S. Postnova, K. Voigt, and H. A. Braun [Preprint 2009].
The response of the system to a periodic circadian signal is studied in the presence of diversity. The model exhibits collective effects such diversity-induced resonance.
